Finance, construct, operate, and maintain three custody centres for the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner

The Sussex Custodial Services project is a 30 year concession to finance, construct, operate, and maintain three custody centres in Sussex for the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner. The centres are in Worthing, Chichester and Brighton. A fourth centre, in Eastbourne, was subsequently contracted for as a variation.

The project involved capital expenditure of approximately £20 million and financial close occurred in August 2001. The construction of the first three centres, undertaken by Ballast plc (which has now ceased trading), was completed in October 2002.

Operations commenced in November 2002, with the fourth centre being completed in June 2005. Hard and Soft FM are provided by Tascor.
