Finance, upgrade/construct, operate, and maintain new and existing radio and telecommunications systems for London Underground Limited

The Connect PFI project is a 20 year concession to finance, upgrade/construct, operate, and maintain new and existing radio and telecommunications systems for London Underground Limited.

The project reached financial close in November 1999 and had capital expenditure of approximately £330 million.

Fluor Enterprises was subcontracted to provide the engineering, procurement, design and construction for installation of the new transmission network and radio systems, and this was fully completed in December 2008.

The initial system became operational in July 2005. Thales Transport and Security Limited have been subcontracted to operate and maintain the existing and new systems for the life of the project.
